Whole Congruence Therapy

Miriam Kolni, MS, LMFT

Affirming therapy for the whole person, because you deserve to  finally take care of you and your relationships.

Now is the best time take care of you and be yourself.

Therapy is for everyone at any time in life, whether you want an extra boost to improve what is already there, get support during stressful and confusing times, take on challenging life moments, or heal persistent problems that keep popping up and getting in the way.

Your therapy. Your therapist. Your choice.

The search for a therapist can be overwhelming these days. There are so many different personalities, specialties, modalities, qualities, styles, etc. What you really want to know is: Will I feel safe and comfortable? Will they connect with where I'm coming from, what's going on now, and where I want to go? Will they be able to help me and am I even able to feel better? Are they knowledgeable about what impacts me?  Will they understand me and not judge me?
Finding a therapist who is on your team, answering these questions honestly and affirmatively, and who fits well with you, is fundamental to reaching your goals.

Meet Miriam (she/her)

If the decision to give therapy a try was not difficult enough, finding a therapist that is the right fit for you can feel like a massive undertaking. What I bring to our work together is a calm presence, a respect and consideration for all parts of who you are, care and humor, and a deep curiosity and drive to reach towards your goals. I believe that every person deserves to be treated with respect and as a whole human being. No matter your gender identity, sexual orientation, relationship type, cultural background, skin color, religion, etc., what makes you unique is valid and integral to your experience. You are the expert on you, and I appreciate the courage it takes to be vulnerable, the willingness to seek help, and the hope you demonstrate by showing up for yourself and your relationships.

As a queer person in the LGBTQ+ community, I value the importance of having a space to feel uninhibited by the pressures, expectations, and often fear of being unsafe, and to show up and be seen as your whole self. I will meet you where you are in the struggles you are facing, challenge you to experience something different, and work with you to untangle the layers of contributing factors that impact your experience while identifying and optimizing your strengths. You are not your problems, and I believe in your capacity for change and growth.

I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) which means I understand you, the challenges you face, and how to work towards your goals within a larger framework of your context, what makes you who you are (i.e. your culture, sexuality, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, location, etc.), your relationships (i.e. the family you grew up in, other important relationships, romantic relationships, etc.), and the patterns and themes that both keep you feeling stuck and help you feel safe.  We will collaborate on identifying and understanding what is going on, and learn how to experience new ways of relating to yourself and others so you can be your most authentic self and live your life more fully.
